The sole reason for this was the fact that it presents you with the most ideal opportunity to get out into the African Savannah and experience the wildlife up close and personally. As far as Kenya vacation apartments and accommodation are concerned, you do have to be careful here. At the end of the day, Kenya is a very poor country and their idea of luxury accommodation is not always going to fit the same bill as a westerner’s. With this in mind, make sure you stringently check out the facilities on offer in the accommodation and verify the reputability of the seller. As a general rule of thumb, do be careful with Kenyan self-catering apartments. Whilst there are some beautifully appointed properties available, know the neighbourhood they are in before you book. Hotel accommodation definitely presents the safest option. One word of caution here though, the Kenyan’s five star rating would probably be more akin to a three star in the UK. The hotels I stayed in all purported themselves as five star, but I would never have been that generous. One thing the Kenyans will not be beaten on, however, is the level of service and genuine warmth that you feel from the locals when you reside in their country. |
