New York must rank as one of my favourite city break destinations on this entire planet! Having been there three times already, I never tire of this destination, and am always ready to head back over the Atlantic if and when I get the chance.
There are so many things to do and see on your New York travel and it is therefore a good idea to plan an itinerary before you go: you will never be able to fit absolutely everything into a city break in New York.
Obviously, if it is your first time to the city, the main attractions you should concentrate on include the Circle Line tour which leaves from Battery Park. This will take you out to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. You can get some great photos of the New York skyline on this boat trip.
Then you should visit the most iconic skyscrapers of the city: these include the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and the new structures being erected to replace the World Trade Centres.
You should also make sure you bring a credit card with you that has oodles of funds left on it - the shopping in New York is one of the best things about this city. Visit Bloomingdales, Saks of Fifth Avenue and Macy’s: these are the best department stores in Manhattan.
Once you have tired of the hustle and bustle of the city, it will be time to head uptown to Central Park. This must rank as one of the most famous parks in the world and there is even a zoo here for you to visit.
